Marmalade in 2019!

Hello all!
It's been a minute... But I am happy to say that we finished building our house and moved in late January! I cannot tell you the amount of relief and joy we have felt finally having a home again, and one that is so incredibly beautiful in such a lovely spot. I would almost say it has all been worth it. Well, maybe in another year :)
Now that our living situation is calm and peaceful (we moved 4 times last year and had most of our stuff in storage from June- January) I am so grateful to go back to "work" in earnest and am grateful all over again that my work is one that I love so much. Thank you all for your support of making that possible! I'm excited for all the shows and projects I have in the works and hope I will get to connect with some of you in the future.
Pictured above are some photos from last year's Potters of Madison County show, which I am excited to participate in again very soon! It's a particularly fun show because I get to stay with dear friends, great potter & flower farmers Josh Copus and Emily Patrick and use all the gorgeous flowers in my pots!

Potters of Madison County

Join us at Marshall High Studios Saturday April 13 for the ninth annual Potters of Madison County show and sale! Come see the wares of some of the finest potters in the region and beyond, in historic Marshall, NC ~ 25 minutes north of Asheville. The sale is open 9a - 4p and admission is free.

Northern Clay Center

I have new work at Northern Clay Center available for purchase on their website. Also, there is a big new batch of fresh mugs for you NCECA goers!

Small Favors

The Clay Studio, Philadelphia, PA
April 20 - June 9
Opening Reception: April 20, 11am - 1pm

Small Favors engages artists' creativity in new and exciting ways with the challenge of making pieces on a very small scale. For some artists, the work they create is similar to what they normally make, but at a reduced scale. Others use it as an opportunity to break away from what they create in their daily studio practice. The works exhibited are incredibly varied in material, form, and aesthetics. Though small in scale the artworks created for this exhibition are huge in impact.

After 5 consecutive big online Spring sales on April 1st, I have decided to do things a little bit differently this year. My goal is to upload 5-10 new pots a month to the online shop.
If you are on instagram, please follow me @maria_dondero. This is a good way to see when something new is popping up, as I don't like to bombard your email inbox all the time with updates...
If there are specific shapes you are looking for, send me a message and I will try and add more of those in the upcoming shop updates.

Don't forget about Southern Star Studio's first Saturday of the month open studio. This is a great time to stop by the studio and see the new work that we have all been making. It's been getting busier- thanks all who have made it out!
For the first Saturday of May- May 4th, we will have a focus on planters, hanging planters and vases, all shown with plants that Clyde will provide from Hungry Gnome. Everyone around the studio is working on this theme and it is really cool to see so many different interpretations of the same form! This will be a great time to get Mother's Day gifts, graduation or wedding presents. Please stop by if you are in the area.
The first Saturday of June, June 1st,  will be our second biggest sale of the year with a Friday night reception with food and music and lots of fresh pots to enjoy!

Our new house, mostly finished! There will be more pops of color once the wood dries out, and eventually some killer landscaping... But we love it so much!

All my best,
Maria
