2018! A little taste of what I have been up to so far...
Spring is starting! With one of my all time favorite flowers- the lenten rose. My father grew these and many other varieties of flowers when I was growing up. At any season, I could go out into his garden and pick a beautiful bouquet of flowers to bring into the kitchen to enjoy or gift to a friend. Camellias in the winter, lenten roses in the late winter, then daffodils, white bells, and azalea in the spring, zinnias and many other summer blooms, and then fall blooming camellias. Having such a wide array of flowers to pick at any time was a luxury that I had no idea how lucky I was to have! It is just one of the many ways that my father taught me about beauty in life, and for that I am very grateful.
My parents have recently moved to Athens and my gift to them for this wonderful present is a large set of tiles for their kitchen. Featured are some of the flowers my father grew. Here is an in process shot:
I have been drawing a lot of flowers in general on my pots, as I am excited for their return.

Potters of Madison County, April 14-15, 2018, Madison County, NC
The weekend of April 14th, I am thrilled to be headed to Madison County, NC to part of the Potters of Madison County annual show. (Click here for P.O.M.C Facebook page with updated info) I met fellow potter Josh Copus when we were both in the Designed + Crafted show for 3 years running in Atlanta put on by the Signature Shop. He makes beautiful work and is just a fantastic human being all around! So I was very excited when he invited me to be a guest in this show and invited the whole family to stay with him and his fiance in Marshall, NC at their lovely home. I am looking forward to it! If you are around the Asheville area, please come say hello and see the work by some really great artists!
Lastly, on the home front, my not-so-little twins are 6! Its going to be a good year!
