Summer time 2016

Today is the Solstice!
And it has been WAY TOO LONG since I have updated the news section.  Mostly due to this small project I have been working on...Pictured here: Jenna and myself hanging the sign in front of my new studio!
Southern Star Studio has been a large undertaking, but a very rewarding one as I renovated an old house turned heating & air manufacturer turned woodshop into a community studio and gallery.  The name comes from the previous owner- the house and it's neighbor building were owned by the Dillard family who ran Dillard Coal Company and then switched to heating/air.  Dillard Coal sold Southern Star Coal, as shown in the old photo of the coal building.  The name "southern star" was too good to pass up, and so I named the studio in it's honor.
Right now I share the space with 5 other fabulous potters, and it is really wonderful to have a community of artists to work with!  I have a nice little gallery set up, that is available by appointment for purchases & visits. (706.248.6899)
So, it has been a busy, fun, exhausting, exciting year working on the space.  If you are around Athens, please come by and check it out.
I have lots of exciting projects and shows in the works!  I will detail them all very soon (I hope...) but in the meantime, send me a note and say hello and come visit us!
