Studio news & 2020 Pots

Dear all,
2020 has been a super busy year so far! My labor of love Southern Star Studio is growing into something new and I'm excited to see where this transition will take us. I reworked the space and added a community shared studio and hired a studio & gallery manager to help lighten my load. It has definitely been a balancing act to run my own pottery business as well as the studio & gallery component of the studio. I am hopeful that the work to put in some new systems and get help will make the future run smoother and ensure that Southern Star sticks around because I am not burnt out!

One of the most exciting changes for Southern Star is that we are now open regular hours: Every Friday & Saturday from 10a-4p. Either me, my studio assistant, or the gallery manager Regina will be there keeping the shop open, so there are many opportunities to stop by and pick up new work for gifts or yourself. It also makes a great stop if you have visitors in town, bring them by to see a little Athens flavor! And thanks for helping spread the word, we have really been appreciating the building interest and traffic.

Friday, May 1st from 5-9p & Saturday, May 2nd from 10a-4p

In honor of our 4th birthday, Southern Star Studio will be hosting a Planter Sale May 1st - 2nd. It is hard to believe that the studio has been open for 4 years now! Come celebrate with delicious food, live music and since we have an evening event, wine and beer. Come toast to 4 great years, and hopefully many more.
